You can track gorillas, climb the Visoke volcano, track the golden monkeys or visit the Karisoke Research Centre, with Dian Fossey the famous primatologist set up, or visit local villages

Day 1: Arrival Kigali-Parc Volcanoes

You will be met at the Kigali International Airport by our safari driver-guide. Drive the three hours North of Kigali to Kinigi through Ruhengeri. Enjoy the rolling hills for which Rwanda is well known, approximately driving for 3 hours. Dinner and overnight at Hotel La Palme/Virunga Hotel/Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (H/B)

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Parc Volcanoes

After breakfast, you will depart for the headquarters of the Park where your driver-guide will accomplish the necessary formalities for you. You will meet your ranger guide(s) for a briefing and enter into the forest to begin your day’s activity. After the trekking, lunch and transfer to Kigali. On your way back to the lodge after trekking, a few stops will be made to admire the scenery. Rwanda is the country with over thousand hills! Dinner and overnight at Hotel La Palme/Virunga Hotel/Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (F/B)

Day 3: Parc Volcanoes-Kigali

Return to Kigali, time permitting enjoy city tour including a Genocide memorial site and shopping of African art and craft. With lunch en-route and then transfer to airport for your home flight. End of Services, Meal plan: Half-Board.

Best time to go

The best wildlife viewing months in Uganda are during the Dry seasons from June to August and December to February. Primate walks in the forest are a big part of any safari in Rwanda. The habitat of rainforests is, by default, very wet, and one can’t avoid rain completely.

Uganda Gorilla Permits costs

Uganda gorilla permits cost $600 and Rwanda gorilla permits cost $1500. These have to be acquired months before your trip to be assured of viewing the mountain gorillas. Read more about booking gorilla permits.
