Day 1: Arrive and depart to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
Your three-day Uganda gorilla safari will begin at Entebbe International Airport, where you will be met by your driver/guide, who will brief you on your tour before departing for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda is a large sanctuary for mountain gorillas, with over 300 of them, which is another reason why it should be your safari destination.
The road trip will take you southwest Uganda, across the Equator, to Mbarara for lunch, and then across Savannah grasslands to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The scenic drive through the Kigezi Highlands [commonly referred to as “the Switzerland of Uganda”] and banana plantations leads to the Bwindi National Park gorilla sanctuary. When you arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you can do nothing more than check into your accommodation and relax before embarking on your Bwindi gorilla trekking adventure the next day.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, followed by a move to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.
You can reach the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure after an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide. This rainforest is breathtaking in its majesty! The area has a spectacular steeply forested landscape and is extremely dense, but it is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails that give tourists entry.
With the movements of these great primates, time passes and the landscape changes. When you find a gorilla gang, you will be able to spend an hour with them. The excitement of spending time watching these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, thrilling experience that will be remembered for a long time.
Return to your inn. After lunch, check out and take a transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is surrounded by lush, green-terraced hills that rise to a height of (2,200 – 2,478m), but it’s the 29 islands of different shapes and sizes scattered around the lake that make it most magical — you could spend all day admiring them.
Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort is a mid-range / standard-priced hotel.
Birds Nest Lodge is a luxurious retreat.
Day 3: Swim or take in the stunning view of the Bunyonyi islands before departing for Entebbe.
You will have a leisurely breakfast before departing for Entebbe via Mbarara and stopping at Igongo Cultural Center for lunch (traditional dishes), but you will also have the option to visit the cultural museum here before continuing your journey to Kampala. You should make an en-route stopover at the Equator for more pictures and to browse the gift shops for mementos of your Uganda gorilla and wildlife safari.

Best time to go
The best wildlife viewing months in Uganda are during the Dry seasons from June to August and December to February.
Primate walks in the forest are a big part of any safari in Rwanda. The habitat of rainforests is, by default, very wet, and one can’t avoid rain completely.
Uganda Gorilla Permits costs
Uganda gorilla permits cost $600 and Rwanda gorilla permits cost $1500. These have to be acquired months before your trip to be assured of viewing the mountain gorillas. Read more about Gorilla tracking permits
