Uganda birding safaris and tours – Uganda bird watching

There are only about five birding safari destinations on the planet where you can expect to see over 600 bird species in a single park – Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park has over 620 registered bird species. Uganda is widely regarded as the best birding destination in Africa. Uganda is one of the best places to go birding in Africa, with over 1074 bird species already registered.

Uganda birding safaris take you to notable destinations with a diverse range of bird species and opportunities for bird watching. With 620 bird species registered, Queen Elizabeth National Park is also a good place for game viewing. The Bwindi Impenetrable Jungle, which is also home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, has been home to approximately 335 species. Owing to their size, these two parks are among the richest protected areas on the planet.

“Uganda is arguably the best country in Africa for birds, with over 1000 species reported in a region the size of Great Britain,” writes Philip Briggs. Uganda should be at the top of your birding tour bucket list if you want to go on a birding safari.

You don’t have to miss out on the full birding experience that Uganda has to offer.
