3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking From Kigali
A Step-by-Step Itinerary
Day 1: Journey from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Immediately following your arrival, you will have a meet-and-greet with your tour driver guide at the Kigali International Airport, where you will also get information regarding your safari. Afterward, make your way to the northern town of Musanze, which is home to critically endangered mountain gorillas. Go to Bwindi for the next day’s gorilla trekking after, if time permits, taking an optional city tour of Kigali, which may include a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Monument, where you may learn a great deal about Rwandan history, particularly the Rwandan genocide.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking before making your way to Lake Bunyonyi.
Following the morning wake-up call and breakfast, you will be required to go to the park headquarters in order to get gorilla trekking briefings from the guides working for Volcanoes National Park. When you have been placed in a particular gorilla group, you may then begin your hike, the duration of which will be determined by the gorilla group to which you have been allotted. After spending an hour in their company, you will go back down the slopes of the volcano in the reverse order that you came up. After you eat lunch at the lodge in the afternoon, you will travel to another location for the evening’s cultural experience.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali
Following a hearty breakfast served bright and early in the morning, you will be transferred back to Kigali in time for your departure flight.
