Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your Lodge

Day 1: Arrival

Welcome to Uganda, “Tusanyuse okukulaba” meaning we are happy to see you. Depending on your arrival time, our company representative will meet and pick you up. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay, if you need to check out the city in the late evening, you can let your driver know about your plan for the night.

Day 2: Start your tansfer to Kidepo Valley National park

Day 2: Drive to Kitgum

Today, you will start your adventure to Uganda’s wild places. In the early morning, you will be picked up from your favorite lodge and start your journey to the virgin land. When traveling by road, the distance is quite long and the roads are not so good. Your driver-guide will start the drive very early in the morning and make a stopover at Lira town to encounter a local community encounter before proceeding to Kitgum town for relaxation, dinner, and overnight

You will eat dinner and sleep at your lodging.

PS: Please note that this tour can be upgraded to transfer to Kidepo by air.

Day 3: Drive to Kidepo Valley

Day 3: Kitgum to Kidepo

Dawn drive to Kanangorok hot spring to meet the East African Big Five that can be seen wandering around, as well as birds like the ostriches. After you have returned to the lodge for refreshment, you will have breakfast and lunch and use the afternoon for a cultural experience that will get you in touch with the Karmojong people at Karenna and Kidepo. Spending time with these locals will make your safari remarkably memorable. Mix together and have a chat with the local elders and they will show you their animal kraals, the grinding stones, and many better items. Then, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 4: Morning game drive and transfer to Gulu

Day 4: Game drive and transfer to Gulu

On this adorable day when you are still in Kidepo, before heading to Gulu, we will go on another wildlife drive. We’ll have breakfast and then proceed on your final game drive in this actual wilderness; no game drive in Kidepo is the same. Every day brings a new sight, and you may anticipate to boost your game count. Return to the lodge to check out before transferring to Gulu for lunch and the remainder of the day at your Hotel.

Day 5: Drive to Murchison falls National Park.

Day 5: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

The drive from Gulu to Murchison Falls National park is approximately 5 hrs, this means you need to have an early breakfast and have enough time on the road. Your drive will take you through part of the Acholi region. Be sure of some stops to take photos, pees, stretch your legs along the way

Day 6: Full day Murchison Falls exploration

Day 6: Murchison falls National Park game drive and boat cruise.

This morning in Murchison Falls National parks starts different compared to Kidepo days. This time, you are having a morning boat cruise along the Nile. The boat cruise is approximately 2hrs, just floating on the waters, watching various animals on the water banks including the elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, hippos, crocodiles, birds such as the sun birds, African fish eagle and most interesting the water falls. If you are fit enough, you can opt for a hike to the top of the falls and if not, sail back to the river shores. Proceed for lunch, if it’s a hot day, take a deep in the pool and wait on your guide for an evening game drive. Many of the animals are winding their day and some on the night hunters are getting ready run out of their dens, catch a glimpse of the giraffes, elephants, kobs, bushbucks, warthogs, buffaloes, lions, waterbucks and so many more. This is enough for the day, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7:  Transfer to Hoima

Day 7:  Transfer to Hoima

After breakfast, cross with the ferry to the southern section and drive to the top of the falls to explore the famous Murchison Falls. You encounter the world’s longest Nile River as it squeezes itself to pass through an 8m ravine forming a plume of spray marked by a thunderous roar and a trade mark rainbow as it falls 43m below to the Devils Cauldron. The site is impressive for photography. After breakfast, leave the activities and begin the transfer to Hoima. You stop along route to Kibiro Salt Gardens to learn about the history of this unique landmark. Kibiro Salt Gardens has supported the lifestyles of the local population from 900 years ago, long before Europeans arrived. The residents extract excellent salt, which they then barter for food and other commodities with other groups. After the encounter, depart towards Hoima, arriving in the afternoon for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Fort Portal area

Day 8: Drive to Fort Portal area

Transfer to Fort Portal Area after breakfast following five (5) hours’ drive passing through the impressive countryside landscapes of Kagadi and Kyenjojo that are dotted with lush green, rural homesteads and farmlands. Upon arriving in Fort Portal Area, you settle for lunch in one of best restaurants in Fort Portal town after which you embark on the cycling in the Mpanga tea estates. On your cycling, you encounter the estate staff plucking tea and you are free to participate in the exercise to gain the exact touch.

Alternatively, you can opt to visit the Amabere g’ Nyinamwiru Caves and hike the Fort Portal Crater Lake field. Retreat from this encounter and embark on the hike to the Fort Portal Crater Lake field where you traverse the challenging slopes of Kyeganywa hill surrounded by a range of crater lakes and crater hollows presenting one of the beautiful scenic sites in Uganda. The top of Kyeganywa hill offers the views of Rwenzori Mountains on a clear day. Retreat from the chosen activity and transfer to Kibale National Park for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 9: Chimpanzee trekking experience

Day 9: Chimpanzee trekking experience

Gather for a Chimpanzee tracking briefing at Kanyanchu Tourism Center in Kibale National Park to catch up with Chimpanzee trekking which begins at 8am. After this, you head to the forest in search of the man’s closest relative. Apart from chimps, Kibale is home to 12 primate species, including the endangered red colobus, which has the highest population in Kibale, the rare I’Hoest’s monkey, black-and-white colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed and blue monkeys, bush baby, olive baboon, and potto, all of which can be seen during the trek. Retire from the activity, which typically lasts 2 – 5 hours, and return to the starting location, where you will rejoin your corporate safari guide, eat your packed lunch, and then transfer to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for wonderful opportunities to watch 138 bird species. After the activities, return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 10: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park

You get up early for an early morning cup of coffee while taking in the views of Kibale before embarking on a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park. Upon arrival, you proceed for lunch before kick starting a remarkable Isasha game drive with a possibility of meeting the Queen Elizabeths famous tree-climbing lions besides other adorable animals such as impalas, kobs, elephants etc.

Day 11: Morning Game drive & Boat cruise at Queen Elizabeth National park

You get up early for an early morning cup of coffee while taking in the views of the lush savannah before travelling to the park at 7 a.m. for the game drive. Take a game drive through the Kasenyi trails and the Queen’s Mile in search of fantastic wild game such as cape buffaloes, leopards, topis, elephants, kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, lions, and side-striped jackals, among other animals. After a break from the activities for some leisure and lunch, meet at Mweya jetty for an afternoon Kazinga Channel boat ride, which departs at 2 p.m. This trip allows you to observe the biggest concentration of water-submerged Hippos up close, as well as over 60 species of migrating and resident birds, as well as crocodiles drinking and resting at the water’s edge. You retreat from the boat cruise and do an evening game drive along the Channel track to explore more wild game in their evening moments

Day 12: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable

Day 12: Transfer to Bwindi

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park driving through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park named Ishasha well known for its tree climbing lions. The Ishasha sector presents a remarkable encounter with the unique tree climbing lions which are only existing in two spots in the whole world with the Ishasha sector having the best viewing opportunities. You continue on the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 12: Bwindi Gorilla trekking

This is an unique day appreciating the magnificent mountain gorillas. Going gorilla trekking in Bwindi’s steep forested landscapes is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that will leave you with lasting memories. You meet at the park headquarters in the morning at 8 a.m. for a briefing and to be assigned to one of the gorilla families to track. The experience lasts 2–8 hours, depending on gorilla movements, and you will have one hour to interact directly with the gorillas. When you approach a gorilla, their reaction is unpredictable. They may give you a friendly greeting, or they may ignore you and charge at you. Retreat from the activity and embark on the transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 15: Lake Bunyonyi Relaxation

Undertake a recreational boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi dubbed the lake of a thousand Islands because of its 29 Islands. Lake Bunyonyi is given as the second deepest Lake in Africa and is surrounded by the magical highlands of Kigezi present magical sightseeing experience while cruising on the calm waters. The boat cruise makes various docks allowing you walk on some of the Islands to explore the local people and their way of life including the traditional foods, the traditional musical performances, the local brew and visit to the local schools. There are a range of other canoes and boat on the lake which offers you an opportunity to interact with the navigators and the fishermen. You retreat from the activity to relax the lodge and eventually overnight.

Day 14: Lake Bunyonyi to Kampala

Day 14: Lake Bunyonyi to Kampala

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Kampala, stopping for lunch along the way. You will arrive in Kampala in the evening with wonderful memories of Lake Bunyonyi and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 15: Transfer to Entebbe International airport

We know you have had enough and fascinating experience in Uganda and your body is somewhat exhausted. You will have enough rest and be transferred to the airport for your flight back home in the early afternoon.
